Built on the site of The Chopping Knife Inn and formerly a vicarage, school for young gentleman and a temperance inn; The Antrobus Arms Hotel is an original listed 17th Century Coaching Inn set in the ancient town of Amesbury a stones throw away from Stonehenge and nearby Salisbury. We have 20 individually styled en-suite rooms, one of which is our Beatles Suite where the fab 4 (The Beatles) stayed while they were filming ‘Help’ on Salisbury Plain. The hotel has also been host to television programmes and films, including being a location for the filming of Agatha Christies ‘Miss Marple’.
The hotel is perfectly placed to access a wide variety of attractions – both local and afar. With local bus and rail links running seven days a week, Amesbury is the perfect place to act as a base to explore southern England.

The Antrobus Hotel is ideally situated in the centre of the oldest settlement in the UK, Amesbury. We are the closest hotel to Stonehenge (just 2 miles away). The best of british beaches and central London are all less than an hour by public transport.
The Antrobus Arms Hotel is located on the edge of Amesbury Town Centre. Across the road from the hotel is the historic Amesbury Abbey church. The town centre has an array of Cafes, Restaurants, Nightclubs, Takeaways, Shops and Pubs. The town has several parks, rivers and open spaces. Groceries can be bought from the towns baker, or the large co-op store in the town centre. Just a 10 minute walk from the Town Centre is a Tesco superstore. Near to the Tesco store is Solstice Park, on the edge of the A303, Solstice Park has a 24 hour petrol station, a 24 hour McDonalds and Costa Coffee, as well as a Harvester restaurant, KFC and Pizza Hut.
All guest bedrooms are en-suite and decorated to a high standard. Every room includes tea and coffeee making facilities,digital television, free wi-fi internet access (available throughout the hotel) as well as telephone, linen and towels. Rooms are made up daily by our house maids. Singles, Twin, Double and Family rooms are all available – as well as a honeymoon suite.
Our beatles suite is famous as the Hotel played host to the Beatles in the 60’s, when they visited Salisbury Plain to film the video for ‘Help’.
