Recently refurbished, The Ballroom is the main indoor function room at The Antrobus Hotel. Able to cater for a variety of functions, The Ballroom is a licensed for marriages and civil partnerships. This spacious room with high ceiling can seat up to 150 people in theatre and up to 70 in a dining configuration.
The Ballroom is licensed to play live or recorded music until 2pm, which makes it a popular choice for the evening portion of wedding receptions – since it leads directly onto the terrace that our wedding marquee is erected on.
Among the many configuration options available in The Ballroom is a removable stage, and projection system with a large 3m screen. The large chandelier in the middle of the room is an impressive centerpiece and the room has recently been installed by a dynamic LED lighting system, whereby the walls can colour-washed with any of over 200 colours to suit the brand identity or theming of the event that it holds.
The Ballroom benefits from it’s own outdoor terrace, which is available for private hire hire along with the attached outdoor bar – which can be hired for exclusive use.
Located just across the foyer from the main bar and restaurant, The Ballroom benefits from fantastic views out onto the garden and offers direct access to the Marquee and The Orangery.

The Ballroom at The Antrobus Hotel is a fantastic venue for adult celebrations of all kinds, including adults only parties. The room can be hired alongside the outdoor terrace and guests have the option of commissioning our new outdoor bar for exclusive use. The new dynamic LED lighting system in the room enables easy colour theming of the light fixtures, whilst guests have the option of having a disco in the room -by either hiring the hotels own disco equipment for themselves to operate, or by bring in an external DJ and disco.
Whatever the celebration – be it a family event, baby shower or just a general ‘knees up’ The Ballroom is a flexible space able to cater for any occasion. The hotel has a wealth of audio-visual and lighting equipment available for hire, as well as a full disco setup and removable stage. Guests also have the option of bringing their own DJ and/or equipment and choosing from one of the many seating layouts. Chair covers, colour co-ordinated sashes and table linen are provided by default, which gives the room that extra luxurious touch.

With it’s removable stage and good acoustics, The Ballroom is a great environment in which to house live music. Sound and lighting equipment is available to hire directly from the hotel, or you can bring your own. The hotel would also be happy to recommend a number of live acts for your event, ranging from local pop/rock groups to acoustic groups and even string quartets!
The Ballroom offers a quiet and relaxed atmosphere in which to hold your meetings. Combined with one of The Antrobus Hotels many catering packages (including welcome drinks, tea/coffee, cake, finger buffets and even sit down silver service meals) it is the ideal room in which to represent your organisations brand. Subject to availability the room is also offered free of charge to local charitable groups.

The Antrobus Hotel holds a licence for hosting Marriages and Civil Partnerships. Guests can choose from any one of our 3 licensed ceremony rooms,which among them include The Ballroom, and for 2017 the Garden (and wedding marquee). After the wedding has taken place the happy couple and their guests can move out into the garden and have some fantastic photos taken around the fountain and pagoda.
Whilst being a popular venue for the ceremony itself, The Antrobus Hotel also frequently holds wedding receptions for couples who have chosen to get married at another venue. We have a total of 5 hirable function areas, most of which interconnect and can be hired together to provide a flexible venue for your wedding. The Ballroom is a popular choice for both the reception (where guests opt not to hire the wedding marquee) and as a location to hold the evening festivities, since it leads out directly onto the garden terrace/marquee. Adaptable LED lighting in the room enables the walls to be ‘colour washed’ with the colour scheme of the function, whilst the dimmable chandelier in the centre of the room provides an excellent focal point.
